Nau mai, haere mai - welcome to our school

It is a privilege to lead Discovery School, which provides opportunities to work with a committed team of staff and students from across Years 0-8.  The future for which we're preparing our students is ever changing and none of us really know what careers and life experiences they will encounter.  At Discovery School, we have strong values that we adhere to, which encourage our students to be the best they can be and work towards achieving our vision of educating for successful living.  We aim to ensure all our students experience success; not just in an academic sense but also culturally, physically and socially.

Strong partnerships between whānau and staff, where students are valued and empowered as active participants in learning, are vital for improving educational outcomes.  We value the input of parents/whānau and recognise the whole family as being paramount to our school community.  We welcome and act upon feedback quickly to ensure all students are happy and safe at school.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us should you have any questions or feedback.

Our quality teaching and support staff are fully committed to making Discovery School a place where learning is the focus of everything we do, with fun along the way!  We endeavour to provide programmes in which children are motivated, challenged and supported and enjoy learning.  We also ensure that the requirements of our special needs students are effectively met so that students can reach their full potential.

I hope this website provides you with useful information about our school.  If you would like to know more or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me to arrange a visit.
